Machinima – cool new art form

Machinima (combo of Machine + Cinema) is a new art form that is emerging. You use the engines inside video games to create an animated movie. With this you could be a sort of a poor man’s Pixar.  Some have even started releasing serials like this one based on EA’s Sims 2. Even an Academy of Machinima Arts & Sciences exists complete with a film festiival as well. Check here for more info. Susan Crawford on the subject. You can find some more info on Corante. Any bets on when we will see this in the theaters and when a blog dedicated to machinima will appear ?

Infernal Affairs – copied from Drohkaal ?

Time magazine carried an article on this hongkong movie Infernal Affairs which has won a lot of awards and is going to be screened in the NY Film Festival this month. Check the storyline out Seemed to me like the crux has been lifted from the brilliant movie “Drohkaal” by  one of India’s best directors Govind Nihalani.  As they say imitation is the best form of flattery.  If anyone has seen this HK movie, please comment.
